1. What is the history of GIA’s office in Shanghai, China?

Global Intelligence Alliance Group’s (GIA Group) representation in China began as Fusion Consulting, which was itself incepted in 2002. The company served clients such as B&Q, Walt Disney, Unilever, Ingersoll Rand and PerkinElmer. Fusion Consulting became a GIA Member company in 2004 and eventually officially merged with Global Intelligence Alliance Group in October 2008.

With the merger, clients in China received immediate access to efficient industry research and in-depth intelligence across the globe, specialists with local market and industry expertise and a single partner to provide the full range of customized Market Intelligence and related consulting services.

4. Who heads up the Global Intelligence Alliance office in Shanghai, China?

Nicolas Pechet heads up the Global Intelligence Alliance Group office in China. As Managing Director and Head of  GIA China at GIA Group, he is responsible for the business success of GIA China, client relations, team development, project oversight/management, and strategic advisory. Moreover, Nicolas heads up GIA’s Private equity and M&A (PEMA) practice globally.

Nicolas has been advising companies on business strategy for over 13 years, the majority of which has been focused on Asia-Pacific markets, and particularly China. Prior to taking over management of GIA China out of Shanghai, Nicolas was based in Hong Kong for 7 years (4 years of which in GIA’s Hong Kong office), largely focusing on developing China market insights, expansion strategies and commercial due diligence on M&A/investment targets for clients. He has served dozens of multinationals and private equity firms, such as BASF, Dow, Dow Corning, Disney, Electronic Arts, IBM, ITT, Philips, Tyco, Unilever, Morgan Stanley (IBD) and Baring Private Equity.

Prior to GIA Group, Nicolas’ career has seen him represent several world class companies, including Deloitte Consulting (Strategy Consulting Practice), NYSE traded Harris Corporation’s Global Strategy & Marketing Group, and XSource Corporation (the private equity and incubation arm of a US$12 billion diversified conglomerate).
