CEE countries have been a rapidly developing economic area in recent years. The countries of the region underwent a transition to western-style economies in the 1990s and began growing at a pace vastly exceeding the EU average. Accession of 10 CEE countries to the EU in 2004 and 2007, and the removal of trade barriers with “old” EU countries, made the CEE region a hotspot for international companies.
Nevertheless, the diversity of cultures, languages, economic structures, and ways of doing business means that having a keen understanding of how to conduct MI in the region is an absolute necessity.
