Growing Demand for International Market Intelligence among U.S. Companies to Support Market Entry and Expansion

With the United States economy slowing down and the value of the U.S. dollar declining, the demand for Market Intelligence is significantly increasing as American companies are rapidly finding new markets abroad for their products and services.

U.S. companies, particularly manufacturers, are enjoying strong foreign sales, even as the U.S. economy cools. A steady five year decline of the U.S. dollar is quickly improving the competitiveness of  American companies globally. American exports grew in double digits in 2005, 2006 and 2007, manufactured exports being at record high level. In December 2007, exports rose to $144.3 billion, setting a new record for a 10th straight month and reflecting increasing demand for U.S. made industrial supplies.

Jouko Virtanen, President of Global Intelligence Alliance North America, comments: “One could imagine demand for services, such as customized market intelligence, suffering from the downturn, but the conclusion is quite the opposite; we have never experienced as much interest in global market monitoring and market entry analyses than during the last 10 months and the trend continues. Clearly, companies are taking full advantage of the dollar decline and investing in building exporting capabilities”.

Companies across the U.S. are increasingly interested in markets, such as China, Malaysia, Russia, Poland, Brazil and Germany. Especially companies with less experience in foreign markets will need to invest in learning the local market conditions, investment environment, regulatory issues, competitive landscape, distribution channels, partnering possibilities, and possible entry barriers.

Virtanen continues: ” With our global presence in over 100 countries and our expertise in local information gathering and analysis, we are well placed to support the resurgence of the U.S. manufacturing sector, practically helping companies to quickly expand their international business. Essentially we are providing recession remedies for all industries and companies across the U.S. to fully utilize the global potential and find new sales opportunities.”

Global Intelligence Alliance will present its offering to support international market expansion at the 2008 Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) Annual Conference in San Diego, California on April 14-17.
