What's New with Intelligence Plaza 7?

We are living in the middle of a dramatic shift in how people and organizations communicate and collaborate, as manifested in the rapid growth of technologies such as social media, smart phones and RSS feeds. Developed with this in mind, what will the latest version of GIA’s  software, Intelligence Plaza®, offer market intelligence practitioners?

Watch Intelligence Plaza 7 launch webinar.

Aleksi Grym, Director, Offering at Global Intelligence Alliance shares his thoughts with us.

In one sentence, how would you describe the enhancements found in Plaza 7?
“Plaza 7 offers the capability for further collaboration, improved user experiences both in and outside of the office, better reporting tools and better integration of market intelligence into internal systems.”

What benefits can clients expect from upgrading to Plaza 7?
“I would say there are five areas that stand out.

Firstly, Plaza 7 is a comprehensive system for managing both the simpler and more complex market intelligence operations in large companies. Our expertise in setting up and managing intelligence operations for numerous global companies is reflected in Plaza 7.

Secondly, Plaza 7 has superior multi-channel intelligence delivery capabilities. It doesn’t matter whether the end-user wants to get their intelligence through emails, SharePoint, RSS feeds or smart phones, Plaza 7 can handle any of these delivery channels.

Plaza 7 is very quick to set up and provides the functionalities most needed in intelligence operations off-the-shelf. Compared to setting up other types of systems, let alone developing one in-house, Plaza 7 brings substantial cost-savings.

Fourthly, Plaza 7 is a scalable, robust and secure enterprise software. It has been audited numerous times by some of the largest corporations in the world and it has always passed these audits with flying colors. Hosted in one of the most reliable cloud environments, it is a market leader in terms of uptime, security and scalability.

Lastly, Plaza 7 connects and integrates easily to other information systems using RSS or XML feeds or API’s. This is a very important feature for business process software these days, since information becomes knowledge only when it is shared and can easily flow from one part of the value-chain to the other.”

What have been the inspirations behind the enhancements in Plaza 7?
“We spend a lot of time studying and observing how people create, share and prefer to receive intelligence in the business world. Plaza 7 provides the right kind of tools for this type of activity, especially in the areas of mobile usage, feeds, integration and analytics.

Paramount to the development cycle has been customer feedback.

We have many different channels and methods for collecting feedback and for interacting with our customers: face-to-face meetings, surveys, events, email exchange, etc. We collect feedback continuously.

Ideas, requests and bug reports are logged into a database and reviewed on a monthly basis. The most pressing ones are handled immediately and updated as so called “hot-fixes”. Other ideas are grouped into development themes, which in turn, are used as a basis for planning major releases.

Plaza 7.0 is the biggest of such releases for a long time and it has been about one year in the making. Beyond that, we are currently planning two more releases, 7.1 and 7.2, for 2011. They will complement and improve the 7.0 release but focus on the same development themes: mobile usage, feeds and integration and analytics.”

What features of Plaza 7 will be highlighted during this webinar?
“There are four which I am particularly excited about.

We will demonstrate its dynamic content management capabilities, including multiple editable dashboards and drag-and-drop editing for instance.

Another exciting feature is its upgraded module for field signals, with commenting and rating, plus mobile access to Plaza for submitting field signals.

Then there is the enhanced email alert system, with improved newsletters and personalized email alerts for multiple devices, from desktop to mobile device etc.

Last but not least, we will also be introducing a new feed configuration tool for multiple incoming RSS feeds, and access to a web crawler. Feeds can be configured either to dashboard, module or email alerts.”
